Forest of Dean Half Marathon 18th March, 2018

No fewer than four runners are training to run this half marathon in aid of Grippers. Three staff, Lou, Rachael and Marcus are joined by service-user James Fullard.

James writes;
“During my recovery, Grippers funded my trip to Newgale in Wales. I am really grateful that this trip gave me the opportunity to interact with like-minded individuals and have discussions surrounding psychosis and mental health. Also, the new experiences I had pushed me out of my comfort zone and this has allowed me to realize that I have the confidence to commit to more challenging experiences in my everyday life. Grippers gave me the opportunity to not only get fit but reconnect with sports I used to play. Grip and Grippers have aided my recovery since my hospital admission and through the opportunities provided have given me the chance to get better. Now I want to train hard and run in the Forest of Dean Half Marathon to raise money to help other people like me in the future.”
